Riding & Racing Print

Crawley Wheelers has riders taking part in a wide variety of cycling activities whether it's leisure riding or serious competition.

Club Runs & Saturday Social Rides

There are regular club runs at the weekends and other social rides throughout the year, including sportives.

Please see our Club Runs list for more information.

Please see our Social Rides page for more information on our Saturday social rides.

Time Trialling

The club has a very successful and active time trialling team, which takes part in local and national events throughout the year. The club itself has an extensive evening time trial programme and organises club and open time trial events throughout the year. The club open events are:

41.59 Time Trial - GS/196 - (Part of the SPOCO South East series).

Ernie Dore 10 Mile Time Trial.

Road Racing

Some members race regularly in local road race events including the Surrey Cycle Racing League. We also promote our own road race in Rusper in September.

Cyclo Cross

Crawley Wheelers has a proud Cyclo Cross tradition and we can see that this is will be growing for the coming season that starts on September 16th. There are numerous wheelers who have made investments on cross bikes and are looking forward to a winter of racing. There has already been some training sessions and some evening races in south London. Details of the London League Cyclo Cross calendar of events are here. This will include the Wheelers Cyclo Cross Championship dates. Last years championship was a close fought battle between Mark Smith and our very own Sussex Cross Champion Stuart Nisbett.

Training & Reliabilty Rides

As well as the club runs most members are training throughout the week. Groups are organised depending on ability and location, so it's a case of finding out who's doing what and joining in with them.

There is a regular training session in Haywards Heath during the evening on a Tuesday or Wednesday and turbo training sessions during the Winter.
