Club Time Trial Results #3 – Two-Up

Warmer weather brought out a few more riders to Thursday evening’s two-up time trial held on the Horne course. Home pairing Rupert Robinson and Sam Cheesman took the honours with a strong 24.52 leaving them clear of mixed pairing Julie Briggs and Gary Thayre, who posted 26.16. That in turn was enough to see off visitors Verity Lacey and Simon Jezard from Worthing Excelsior, also a mixed couple,  who weren’t far behind with 26.41. Darren Boakes and Neil Weare gelled well to produce 28.00, faster than either of them has clocked as a solo rider so far this year. Ex Wheeler Grant Walder, now competing for C&N Cycles, rode as an individual and was just a few seconds off his time from the first event with 24.17. Melissa Birch, making her first appearance of the season, laid down a solid 30.33, knocking on the door of a 20mph ride and will doubtless be keen to break that barrier as the season progresses.
